Happy New Year

I know I have been a very bad blogger lately, but it’s for good reason. I have been so busy!

I am really excited moving into 2008. I have more weddings booked going into the new year than any other year, sitting now with 15! I remember the 2nd year running I had only done 12. I finished 2007 with 40 weddings, 93 Seniors, 90+ family sessions and more random business and corporate things! I shot weddings in four states (South Dakota, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska) and had seniors from Montana, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa!

I really am blessed to have had such a great year. It’s been stressful and overwhelming, but incredibly fulfilling and fun too.

So, it’s 6 pm on New Years Eve. All outstanding orders are at the lab or ready for pickup, and I am taking the next 10 days off! Dwayne and I are heading to sunny Florida to attend the National PPA convention, meet some of my dear photography friends, and unwind a bit from the past couple months (All TWELVE OF THEM!!!!)

When we get back renewed and refreshed, I promise to catch up the blog and hit all those missing sessions that haven’t appeared and make sure all my weddings have a slideshow to share, and then I will dive head first into graduation announcements… can you believe it? Graduation announcements already!!! I have 2009 seniors already booked, things like that make time go so fast.

We also have some big announcements to make after we get back, but that’s a secret for now.

I have some resolutions for 2008…in no particular order.

1. Try to blog more. I might try a bit of blogging everyday, but I am going to do my best.

2. Be more organized. As a creative, I can tend to struggle in this area, but I really, REALLY, work hard to keep this on task.

3. Be faster, at editing, and production, at orders, and delivery, at answering the phone, everything, be faster.

4. Think outside the box. Continue to do my own thing, create great images, and dare to do what’s different.

5. Leave at 5 every day.

So, that’s it for now. I might think of more later.

Have a happy, and SAFE, New Year’s.
