I know that Mother’s Day is still 4 months away, but I am too excited about this to keep it to myself.
Â
Being a mom is the hardest job there is. As a mother, I think of how everything what I do and say teaches my children how to live and be. Every day is a challenge, a learning experience, and a joy.
Â
On April 22nd, from 1-5 pm, I invite all mothers into my studio to have a portait made with her children. Each mother and her child(ren) will receive get their photo taken and will receive a free Black and White 5×7 print. There will be small fee of $5 and 100% of all fees will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Â
I would have prefered to have this on actual Mother’s Day, but it doesn’t work out to do so. I hope that everyone will still attend if they can and everyone will be able to enjoy their print on Mother’s Day.
I want all mothers! Expectant mother, New mothers, Grandmothers, God mothers…. Three generations, four generations, FIVE generations, and God willing, SIX generations. Sisters, neices and aunts, anyone who is a “mother” by biology or simply by love.
Â
The 2007 Mother’s Day is dedicated to Amy Hurtado and Donnette Anderson. Amy was my aunt, who died of cancer in October of 2004 at the young age of 42. She left behind 6 children, four who were still at home. We all miss her everyday.
Â
Donnette is my mother in law who has been battling lung cancer since 2005. She is currently in remission and we pray it stays that way.
Â
I have to thank my good friend and mentor Dan Epstein for inspiring this idea. His knowledge and wisdom is never lost on me.
The studio is located at 101 E Capital, no appointment needed, just show up with your mom or your kids!
I hope that you will all stop in and see the studio, have a portrait made with your mother, and help fight cancer.
Shalista
